Today I was off to north Cumbria to photograph the wedding for Samantha and daily at The Den at Four Acre wedding venue in Kirkbride in Cumbria.

I had been watching the weather forecast all week and it changed from one day raining to the next day sunny, and all I was hoping for was at least a dry day as the wedding was to be held outside at this wonderful countryside venue with large teepee tents outdoor entertainment and eating area.

As it happened the rain held off with dark grey threatening clouds on a stiff breeze, fortunately, it didn't rain and everybody enjoyed the wedding outside.

The day started off with the bridal preparations at Greenwood House in Wigton Cumbria, which they had rented out for the bridal and groom preparations just 10 minutes away from the venue, it was a large country house with plenty of rooms and locations for photographing the wedding dress, with a large bright kitchen area where all the brides and bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done whilst having breakfast I'm drinking Prosecco.

The groom and the groomsmen all got ready in an adjacent cottage, While the bride and bridesmaids were having their makeup done the lads simply tucked into sausage and bacon sandwiches, whilst having the odd drink of beer, followed by a shot of pink tequila before heading out to The Den at Four Acre for the wedding.

The wedding ceremony soon got underway and the bride and bridesmaids made their way down the aisle as their wedding guests huddled together some wrapped in blankets as the stiff breeze blew over them, as the bride and groom said their vows and exchanged their wedding rings sealing it with a kiss before heading inside the teepee for drinks and canapes and socialising with the guests.

Lunch was served by way of a hot dog trailer serving hot dogs and chips, in cardboard trays so everybody could enjoy lounging around the field socialising, and having drinks whilst eating. Later in the evening, the pizza van arrived cooking pizzas on site to order with everyone tucking in and enjoying the flame-grilled pizzas, before heading inside to get the party started and dancing on the dance floor until the early hours.

A fantastic wedding with a great couple and lovely wedding guests an absolute pleasure to be a part of their special day being their wedding photographer at The Den at Four Acre and capturing the moments as the day unfolded.
