Today I'm in the Lake District photographing the wedding of Jane and Dale. the day started off at the Dale Head Hall Lakeside Hotel on the edge of Lake Thirlmere, just outside the town of Keswick.
the bridal preparations got underway around 10:00 AM in the morning, photographing the bride and bridesmaids getting ready along with her children, the hotel is old and full of character and charm with nothing much being changed from the day it was built, finding somewhere to hang the dress was quite easy with a lovely window on a staircase an ideal place to hang the dress in natural light.
as the morning went on everybody was soon ready and it was time to head to the Our Lady of the lakes and Saint Charles Catholic Church, down the road in the town of Keswick, the clouds have parted and the sun had come out a perfect setting for a lovely Lakeland wedding.
after the wedding ceremony we headed outside and took some casual photos around the church, before heading back to the Dale head hall lakeside hotel, I managed to leave the church first and parked up on the road on the way back to the hotel, this way I could quickly get out of the car and take a photo of the bride and groom coming down the road with the famous Blencathra Mountain and in the background which looms over the town of Keswick.
within the grounds of the hotel, they had set up a large marquee for the wedding reception which overlooked the lake Thirlmere, an idyllic spot for a wedding.
once the wedding breakfast was over and the speech is concluded I had it down to the edge of the lake with the bride and groom and the bridesmaids for some lovely photos, and the opportunity to take some photos using the drone, it was quite an adventure for the bride and her bridesmaids in the woods in their slippers and high heels which also made for quite entertaining photos.
as the evening progressed it was time for the cutting of the cake and the first dance and the party to get underway, a fantastic wedding with some wonderful guests made for a pleasant day.
